Gluten Free Restaurants Perth 2023: Know How To Navigate Perth’s Foodie Scene

Join me as I delve into my list of favourite gluten free restaurants Perth! Perth, the wonderfully sunny, sleepy capital of Western Australia boasts a great food scene that caters to many dietary requirements. Most menus in restaurants around Perth clearly state the allergens. Being gluten intolerant, I have never had a problem at the eateries around the city. I have laid out my favourite gluten friendly restaurants in Perth. These are places that I continuously revisit as I know they are safe for me.

In my experience, restaurants in Perth are very aware of gluten intolerances and state which items on the menu are gluten free. There is a vast mix of restaurants on this list. Some are very casual, others are more up market. As always though, please be aware of cross contamination that can occur. Set in the old Synagogue in Fremantle, this South East Asian inspired menu has gluten free options galore. Not only is the food delicious with plenty of gluten free options, the atmosphere is worth visiting alone. They have a feed me menu for a very reasonable price of $69. If you tell the waiter that you’re gluten free, they’ll ensure all dishes are gluten free for the table.

Baan Baan

Baan Baan has got to be my favourite restaurant in Perth. It is set in a quirky old house on Newcastle Street in Northbridge. The cuisine is Thai fusion, and their menu is extensive with many gluten free options. They also have a delicious cocktail menu, featuring a coconut and kaffir lime daiquiri (which I have not stopped thinking about since I first tried it!) The food is so full of flavour and authentic. The crispy Thai pancake and the beef curry are my favourite dishes.

Another one of my favourites, Birraz never disappoints. An Italian restaurant with many gluten free options. The menu is so much more than pasta, they have the most delicious meat platters made for sharing. Their produce is proudly locally sourced. Back to the pasta though, they do provide authentic gluten free options with all their authentic pasta sauces.

Another Northern suburb find Basil & Mint a casual Vietnamese restaurant with a gluten free menu. Their pho and rice noodle salad bowls are a good option for those who are gluten intolerant. I used to love dim sum before I went gluten free, and I am saddened that I can’t have it anymore. Fortunately, Bam Bam Boo has a great gluten free selection of the old dim dum favourites – prawn dumplings, salt and pepper squid and soft shell crab. If you’re craving dumplings and fried food found at a dim sum restaurant, then venture to Bam Bam Boo.
